Buggy Cyberpunk 2077, Supergiant’s “forced time off” policy lead to renewed backlash against crunch
Just like The Witcher 3 five years ago, Cyberpunk 2077 is debuting in an already “famously buggy state.” This is despite mandatory crunch that lasted for more than a year for at least some devs at CD Projekt RED.
CD Projekt Red explains why Cyberpunk 2077 ESRB Rating mentions “in-game purchases”
CD Projekt Red has always been vocal about not having microtransactions in its titles. That was certainly the case with The Witcher series, and that has been the plan for Cyberpunk 2077. However, yesterday ESRB published its rating for Cyberpunk, which mentions “In-Game Purchases.”
A spokesman CD Projekt Red explained that this descriptor does not necessarily refer to microtransactions. It is also required for games that may receive expansions in the future.

The management of CD Projekt told investors that it was not afraid of the competition with Half-Life: Alyx. The Cyberpunk 2077 makers also expressed doubt regarding business viability of VR games as mass-market entertainment.
