Vancouver-based Digital Scapes has officially joined CD Projekt, becoming the company’s first office in Canada. The studio previously assisted the Polish developer during the making of Cyberpunk 2077.

Before releasing its annual financial report for 2020, CD Projekt shared the estimated numbers. The company earned a record-breaking $563 million, which is more than 2 times higher than revenues for 2015 — the year when The Witcher 3 was released.

It seems that investors weren’t in awe of CD Projekt’s new strategy suddenly revealed yesterday. The company’s stock was down 9% yesterday and continued to fall after the presentation.

Polish firm DM BOŚ has issued a report on the current financial state of CD Projekt after the problematic launch of Cyberpunk 2077. Analysts lowered the company’s valuation by almost half and provided their sales forecast.

Andrzej Zawadzki, who was a senior game designer of Cyberpunk 2077, left CD Projekt RED after almost 8 years. He hasn’t disclosed a reason for it yet.

Digital sales of Cyberpunk 2077 have significantly decreased since its record-breaking performance at launch. According to analytics’ latest projections, CD Projekt could sell “as few as 500,000” digital copies in the quarter ending March 31.
