An ongoing antitrust trial between Epic Games and Apple continues to shed light on the situation surrounding the two companies’ businesses. It’s been revealed that Fortnite generated $100 million for Apple while being available on the App Store.
According to Bloomberg, the information was confirmed by Michael Schmid, head of App Store business development for gaming. However, he declined to say if the revenue was over $200 million because it would be “inappropriate” to disclose this data.
Schmid also confirmed that Apple spent $1 million on marketing for Fortnite in its last 11 months on the App Store.
Last year, Sensor Tower estimated Apple’s revenue from Fortnite even higher. According to analysts, the company could have earned around $354 million from Epic Games’ battle royale. The sum was based on the fact that players spend over $1.2 billion in Fortnite on iOS.
