We continue our review of 2024 together with top managers and experts from the gaming industry (and related fields). Up next is an interview with Martin Rabl, head of marketing at GIANTS Software.
What was the year like for the studio? What would you like to highlight in terms of achievements?
2024 was a fantastic year for GIANTS Software. We released Farming Simulator 25 to high acclaim, surpassing the sales of its predecessor once again. One of the biggest highlights was celebrating 2 million global sales just one week after launch — a testament to the dedication of our team and the incredible support from our community.

How has the situation on the games market changed from your point of view?
The transition away from the older hardware generation is now finally in place and the current console generation is now the standard for the mass market player audience. While the industry as a whole faced various changes, our company remained steady and unaffected by these shifts. Our focus on the successful Farming Simulator series ensured a stable position throughout the year.
What was the year like for the genre you work in?
As a market leader in the simulation genre, the release of Farming Simulator 25 made a significant impact on the genre. We have once again left a big footprint on the games industry as a whole and have seen remarkable concurrent player numbers in the launch phase, rivaling other big names in the industry. Our success has continued to raise the bar for simulation games, and we’re proud to see how our efforts are shaping the landscape for players and developers alike.

What trends in your niche do you expect to intensify or emerge in 2025?
We anticipate downloadable content will remain highly relevant, providing players with new ways to engage with their favorite games. Additionally, as hardware continues to improve, the pursuit of greater realism in simulation games will also intensify. These advancements will allow us to deliver even more authentic and immersive experiences for players in the future. We also think that players continue to use and fall in love with accessories, from steering wheels to advanced joysticks and unique items like our beacon lights and ignition lock.
What are your studio’s plans for the coming year?
Farming Simulator 25 launched with over 400 machines from 150 real brands, but this is just the start. We’re offering a Year 1 Season Pass, which will bring new content, machines and a new map through 3 packs and one larger expansion. Additionally, the team remains committed to expanding the roster through content updates and mods, which will expand the Farming Simulator universe as well. Lots of stuff, which is in the pipeline for players to experience in 2025.
As a publisher, GIANTS Software will introduce Project Motor Racing, which adds a completely new topic to its roster. Still in the simulation genre, but featuring the uncompromising passion of big-time motorsport.
