Russia steps up pressure on Apple
Anton Gorelkin, member of Russia’s State Duma Committee on Information Policy, asked Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation to look into yet another policy of Apple’s App Store.
According to Gorelkin, he received multiple complaints from Russian developers that Apple does not allow them to create a developer account in the App Store. Without it, it’s impossible to publish an app in the store.What’s the problem?

Empire strikes back: Apple to terminate all Epic Games developer accounts severing Unreal support on iOS
Last week saw a major standoff between Apple and Epic Games. In response to a civil antitrust lawsuit filed by Epic against Apple, the latter decided to terminate all Epic’s developer accounts and block iOS and Mac development tools for the Fortnite company. The decision will come into force on August 28.
Apple begins sweeping App Store in China
Apple has kept its word. It’s removing all IAP and premium games from the App Store in China that had not received a government approval by June 30.
On July 1, over 1,500 games were removed from the App Store China, up from 276 titles removed on June 30. This is according to GameLook.
Apple extends deadline for app updates
On March 4, Apple informed developers that all new apps submitted to the App Store would have to comply with the updated App Store Review Guidelines. The guidelines were changed to include features introduced with iOS and iPadOS 13 SDK or later. These changes pertain to reviews, spam, push notifications, Sign in with Apple, data collection and storage, mobile device management, and more.
All apps already on the store needed to be updated accordingly.
