PlayStation’s Shuhei Yoshida announced the launch of the PlayStation Indies initiative. The purpose of the initiative is to support indie devs capable of advancing the medium though risky untested concepts.

This, according to an official blog post, is becoming increasingly relevant “as AAA game development has grown so financially demanding that big companies are finding it harder to take risks to invest in new concepts that may or may not work.”

The platform holder unveiled 9 titles that will be coming to PS4 and PS5 among other platforms.
