Another week, another data on the top-grossing Steam games. Starfield didn’t manage to stay at the top of the charts, with Baldur’s Gate 3 once again outselling other premium titles a month and a half after its launch.
Baldur’s Gate 3
CS:GO, Valve’s ever-green free-to-play hit was the highest-grossing product on Steam globally for the week of September 12-19, followed by Steam Deck, which climbed six places from the previous week.
Baldur’s Gate 3 remained at #3, which made it the top premium title on the platform by gross revenue again. This happened because Starfield, which topped the charts for two weeks in a row, dropped three places.
Lies of P, a Pinocchio-inspired soulslike from Neowiz Games and Round8 Studio, debuted at #10 (#5 if excluding free-to-play titles and Steam Deck).
There were also some interesting shifts in the top 20 (mostly due to discounts), with It Takes Two and the Resident Evil 4 remake jumping 55 and 46 places respectively.

Baldur’s Gate 3 was the top-selling product on Steam for three consecutive weeks before losing the first spot to Armored Core VI. After that, Starfield took over the charts, but it is worth noting that Larian’s newest RPG has never fallen out of the top 3 since its global launch on August 3.
Shortly after launch, Bethesda announced that Starfield had been played by over 6 million users (including Game Pass subscribers). We are yet to see the official sales data for Baldur’s Gate 3 (aside from the unconfirmed 5 million figure reported by the Belgian Embassy in China), but the game has been retaining huge player interest for over a month now.
The game peaked at over 875k concurrent users (CCU), with hundreds of thousands of people still playing it daily. This makes Baldur’s Gate 3 the second-biggest Steam release of 2023 in terms of peak CCU — behind only Hogwarts Legacy, which reached a peak of 879k concurrent players. The top 10 also includes Sons of the Forest (414k), Starfield (330k), Resident Evil 4 (168k), Armored Core VI (156k), and Remnant II (110k).
