Phil Shenk and Peter Hu, who are known as one of the lead developers of Diablo II, have reunited to start new studio Moon Beast Productions. The duo is now working on an original ARPG.

The developers didn’t share many details about their upcoming project, saying that it will have “big innovations” and deep system design.

“We have huge ambitions for Moon Beast Productions and what we can achieve together,” Hu said (via Game Developer). “Phil and I bring a wealth of experience to the table, and we’re both extremely excited about this new project.”

Peter Hu worked at Blizzard between 1999 and 2003, serving as senior programmer and lead designer. Phil Shenk was Blizzard’s lead artist and lore writer before leaving the studio in 2000.

The duo later reunited at Flagship Studios, working with other Blizzard North veterans on Hellgate: London.
