Players spent $23 million in Pokémon Go during the week of March 16, according to Sensor Tower. That is an increase of 66.7% compared to the week before. The uptick in the title’s revenue is taking place as stay-at-home orders are being issued globally.
Pokémon Go being a location-based AR title, you’d think its revenues would go down as lockdowns spread. However, Niantic has recently rolled out an update allowing players to catch Pokémon while at home.
“Most of that $23 million came from the U.S., where players spent $7.8 million on the game. That’s about 34% of the week’s total,” VentureBeat writes.
