EA has unveiled a pledge to make some of its accessibility-related patents royalty free for every developer in the industry. It means that other studios will be able to implement technologies in their games to make them more inclusive.

Activision Blizzard wants remasters to use all leverages of 3D engines while also maintain the feel of the original games. That’s why the company decided to file a patent for technology that could map 2D assets into 3D in real-time.

Tencent obtained a patent for its own game controller, which looks very similar to Sony’s and Microsoft’s devices. As it’s only a design, it’s unclear when and if this gamepad will be released.
