After months of silence, reports about an unconfirmed Silent Hill 2 remake have started to circulate again. The Medium developer Bloober Team is named as the studio behind the unannounced project.

Insider NateTheHate2 shared the information on Twitter. According to anonymous sources familiar with the matter, there are now multiple Silent Hill projects in development, including a new installment in the series.

On top of that, NateTheHate2 said that Bloober Team has been working on the Silent Hill 2 remake with reworked puzzles and new endings. The game might also become a timed console exclusive for PlayStation.

The first rumors about the announced Silent Hill game appeared last year, with Bloober Team later denying its connection to the project. According to another report, Konami wants to revive some of its classic IPs, including Metal Gear Solid, Castlevania, and Silent Hill.

Following NateTheHate2’s post, journalist Jeff Grubb noted that the information about the Silent Hill 2 remake matches what he heard from different sources. “To me, the biggest indicator is the stuff I’ve seen lines up with Konami doing a big reveal at E3 last year before it pulled out,” he wrote.

Silent Hill: Downpour, the last major game in the prominent horror series, came out in 2012 to mixed reviews from critics. Konami later shelved the franchise, which once was one of its main gaming IPs.
