Microsoft will have dozens of in-house studios with the Activision Blizzard acquisition. Take a look at how the company’s gaming business will be organized if the deal is closed.

On January 20, blogger Klobrille, who covers Xbox news and topics, shared an infographic titled “Xbox First-Party Studios Organization.”

Microsoft’s video game division will be divided into three publishing branches: Xbox Game Studios, Bethesda, and Activision Blizzard. Each of them has their own studios and development teams.

With the latest acquisition, Xbox will welcome Blizzard Entertainment, Treyarch, Infinity Ward, Sledgehammer Games, Digital Legends Entertainment, Raven Software, Demonware, and King.

Activision also has studios like High Moon, Toys for Bob, and Beenox, which were recently moved to supporting roles (especially for the Call of Duty series). However, there is a chance that they would be able to return to making their own games in the future.

Microsoft announced the Activision Blizzard acquisition for $68.7 billion on January 18. The deal is yet to be reviewed by regulators and shareholders. The company will have to pay a $3 billion fine to Activision if the transaction is blocked.

As pointed out by Microsoft, it will have 30 first-party studios after that. Although no announcements about any upcoming games have been made, this deal will help the company fulfill its metaverse ambitions and further boost Xbox Game Pass, which recently reached over 25 million subscribers.
