In the 2019 financial year, CD Projekt’s revenue reached zł521m ($124.9m), up 44 percent from the previous fiscal year. Profit for the period hit zł175m ($41.9m) in a 66 percent increase.
That’s according to the company’s annual report.
These successes are largely driven by the continued strong sales of The Witcher 3. The title sold over 6.5 million copies in 2019: it’s the best result since 2015, when the game came out. This spike in popularity was obviously influenced by the Netflix TV adaptation.
Digital copies accounted for the majority of the sales. PC remains the biggest platform for the title, while the Nintendo Switch only accounted for 11 percent of the 2019 sales.
The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt lifetime sales have reached around 28 million copies, with the entire series having sold around 40 million copies.
The company also said it currently employs over 1,000 people, all whom have successfully adapted to remote work. It means that CD Projekt Red is still on track to release Cyberpunk 2077 in September.
