On September 15, 2011, Sony organized a press tour for game journalists to present PlayStation Vita during the Tokyo Game Show. However, it turned into the controversial event known as “Vita Boat.”

Three weeks after confirming the closure of PlayStation Store for PS3, PS Vita and PSP, Sony changed its mind. The company now said that users will continue to be able to purchase digital copies of games on PS3 and PS Vita. The support for PSP, though, will terminate on July 2, as originally planned.

Sony’s plans to close PS3, PSP, and PS Vita stores have affected not only gamers but also a lot of indie developers. They are at risk of losing games they spent years developing and their money forever.
