Unity continues to restructure, this time preparing for changes in its leadership. The founders of ironSource, an app monetization platform it acquired in 2022, will soon leave the company.

In the wake of recent changes to Unity’s pricing policy, several game developers have decided to completely turn off Unity Ads and ironSource monetization across all of their titles. Companies like Azur Games and Voodoo are calling for per-install fees to be canceled, urging their colleagues to join the protest.

Unity has officially completed its merger with ironSource. While outlining its future plans, the company also addressed developers’ concerns about monetization and a possible shift to the ad business.

ironSource has set a date for a shareholder vote on Unity’s proposed acquisition of the company. This came just a few weeks after Unity decided to reject AppLovin’s offer.

Days after AppLovin offered to snap up Unity for $17.5 billion, the company rejected the proposal. Instead, the board of directors will remain committed to its merger with marketing platform ironSource.

Unity has announced a merger agreement with app monetization platform ironSource, which is now valued at $4.4 billion. The companies plan to build a unique platform for creating, publishing, and monetizing games.
