The Steam Summer Sale has been a success for Bohemia Interactive. Here is how the studio’s tactical shooter Arma 3 performed during the event.

Arma 3 sold over 500k copies during Steam Summer Sale

Bohemia shared the news in a blog post on Steam yesterday, saying that almost 100k people purchased Arma 3 in the first 24 hours of the Summer Sale. This is the “highest number of copies sold in a single day” since its Alpha release in March 2013.

Overall, the game sold over 500k units during the two-week event. In fact, Bohemia CEO Marek Spanel first announced this milestone on July 8, three days before the end of the Summer Sale.

It is worth noting that Arma 3 had its biggest discount during the latest Summer Sale. The game went 90% off, with a base price in the US of just $2.99.

“Big kudos to everyone at Bohemia and also to all player communities for all the support, curiosity, creativity, and community over all those years, especially during challenging times,” Spanel wrote in another post on X.

The studio also published some links to the official FAQ and mods, as well as other recommendations on how to get started in Arma 3. “We want to help you get started on your journey from FNG to Arma Veteran, and to show you why Arma 3 enjoys the longevity it does with its incredibly dedicated and talented community of players and content creators — who ultimately have made the game, and the Arma series as a whole, what it is today!” the post reads.

Last September, Bohemia Interactive announced that the base version of Arma 3 has sold over 10 million copies globally, with its DLCs and two expansions adding another 11 million units.

Arma 3 currently has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with 91% of its 151k reviews being positive. Even after more than 10 days since its launch, the game still attracts around 15-20k concurrent players on the platform daily.

Seasonal sales on Steam are good for boosting sales of older hit games, and Arma 3 wasn’t the only title to experience a spike in copies sold. Last week, 11 bit studios revealed that Frostpunk sold over 400k copies in less than two weeks, with people buying one copy every 2.3 seconds during the event.
