miHoYo has announced Honkai: Star Rail, its new turn-based RPG for PC and mobile. Along with releasing the first trailer, the Chinese studio opened sign-ups for the upcoming closed beta.
While Honkai: Star Rail looks similar to Genshin Impact, the game has a turn-based combat system and is set in the sci-fi world.
It marks the return to the Honkai series for miHoYo. Prior to Genshin Impact becoming a global hit, the studio released shooter Honkai Gakuen 2 and RPG Honkai Impact 3rd.
Honkai: Star Rail is developed for PC, iOS, and Android. miHoYo is now accepting sign-ups for a chance to participate in the closed beta.
As for Genshin Impact, it reached a record-breaking monthly revenue in September, generating $341 million. The game has surpassed $2 billion in total revenue on mobile platforms alone since its launch in September 2020.
