Genshin Impact continues its record-breaking run. The game has just become the fastest mobile title to reach $1 billion in revenue.
Genshin Impact was released on September 28, 2020. According to Sensor Tower, it has already earned more than $1 billion in revenue from App Store and Google Play alone.
It helped the miHoYo’s title outperform other global hits that have been in the market for a while. For example, it took 9 months for Pokémon GO to reach this milestone. Lineage M needed 10 months to surpass $1 billion in player spending, and Clash Royale reached these numbers 11 months after its launch.
Genshin Impact generates about $5.8 million in revenue a day on iOS and Android, Sensor Tower reports. miHoYo manages to keep players’ attention on an impressive level with regular content updates. The game’s revenue jumped to $15.5 million in a single day after the studio introduced the new character Zhongli on December 1, 2020.
The success of Genshin Impact also helped miHoYo earn almost $800 million in revenue last year.
