PUBG has suddenly skyrocketed on the Steam charts last week, outperforming other evergreen hits and new releases by gross revenue. Here is an overview of the top titles on the platform over the previous seven days.
Krafton’s free-to-play shooter was the highest-grossing product on Steam for the week of June 11-18, climbing 11 positions from the previous week. The previous leader, Black Myth: Wukong, moved to 2nd place overall, but remained the top premium game.
PUBG has likely seen a spike in player spending due to the launch of a special event featuring South Korean girl group NewJeans. Krafton transformed the Taego School map into a themed stage and added each member of the group as a playable character, along with new items and other cosmetic stuff.
The game’s daily peak player count also increased from 572k concurrent users on June 11 to 666.8k on June 17.
Kingdom Hearts HD 1.5+2.5 ReMIX, a collection of the first two games in the series and four spin-offs, debuted at # overall (#3 when only looking at premium titles). It also peaked at over 6,800 concurrent players, but other Kingdom Hearts remasters that Square Enix released last week didn’t make the top 100.
