Kingdom Come: Deliverance II has finally come out nearly seven years after the first game. Let’s take a look at its initial (quite impressive) metrics on Steam.
Launched globally on February 4, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II received positive reviews from the press, with an average Metascore of 88/100 based on 53 reviews (PC version). According to OpenCritic, 97% of critics recommended it.
Player reception has also been great so far. Kingdom Come: Deliverance II currently has a “Very Positive” rating on Steam, with 92% of the 4,601 reviews being positive. Users loved many improvements from the first game, calling it a GotY contender and praising its optimization.
According to SteamDB, Warhorse Studios’ new RPG peaked at over 159,351 concurrent players at launch. That’s already 1.65x the all-time high of Kingdom Come: Deliverance (96k CCU).
It is also the first game this year to cross the 100k mark. Other top releases by peak concurrent players include Dynasty Warriors: Origins (69.4k CCU), Final Fantasy VII Rebirth (40.5k CCU), Marvel’s Spider-Man 2 (28.1k CCU), Assetto Corsa EVO (25.7k CCU).
Thanks to strong pre-orders, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II became the highest-grossing premium title on Steam for the week of January 28-February 24. It was second only to Counter-Strike 2 overall, and there is a good chance the game will remain at the top of the charts next week.
The first Kingdom Come: Deliverance game launched on February 13, 2018, selling 500k copies in its first two days and crossing the 1 million mark in two weeks. As of November 2018, its lifetime sales surpassed 8 million units sold.
