Warhorse Studios has announced a new sales milestone for Kingdom Come: Deliverance. The medieval RPG has now sold over 8 million copies globally.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance hits 8 million copies sold, adding another 2 million in last nine months

The developers shared the news on November 4, meaning that it took Kingdom Come: Deliverance over six and a half years to cross the 8 million mark.

Below are the main sales milestones for Warhorse’s debut game:

  • 500k copies — in two days;
  • 1 million copies — in two weeks;
  • 2 million copies — a year after launch (February 2019);
  • 3 million copies — two years and four months after launch (June 2020);
  • 4 million copies — three years and nine months after launch (November 2021);
  • 5 million copies — four years and four months after launch (June 2022);
  • 6 million copies — six years after launch (February 2024).

With new figures revealed, Kingdom Come: Deliverance has sold another 2 million units in the last nine months. This is a remarkable achievement for a single-player story-driven RPG.

Since the start of 2024, Kingdom Come has managed to attract many new players thanks to regular discounts. When looking at SteamDB, it peaked at over 21k concurrent players on April 21, just a few days after the official reveal of its sequel (the game was also 80% off at the time). There was also a free weekend at the end of late August, in addition to a historically low 90% discount, which also fueled player interest.

Warhorse Studios is now gearing up for Kingdom Come: Deliverance II, which is expected to launch on February 11, 2025. Branded as a direct sequel to the 2018 game, it will be published by Plaion’s subsidiary Deep Silver. It is worth noting that all three companies are part of the Embracer Group holding.

Founded in 2011, Warhorse is still led by creative director Daniel Vávra, writer and designer of the first two Mafia titles, and executive producer Martin Klíma, best known for his work on ArmA and Operation Flashpoint: Dragon Rising. The studio was acquired by Plaion (then Koch Media) for €42.8 million in 2019.
