China remains the number one geo by revenue for Genshin Impact. Here’s how much money the mobile version of the game has generated in the country when taking into account third-party Android stores.

Genshin Impact tops $5 billion in mobile revenue in China alone, according to Niko Partners

The new estimates come from Niko Partners, which shared the data in its latest newsletter. According to the analysts, Genshin Impact has surpassed $5 billion in lifetime gross revenue on iOS and Android in China.

What makes this figure stand out is that it includes third-party Android stores. It is worth noting that most analytics and data platforms only track App Store revenue in China, because the Google Play Store is banned in the country. So it is always interesting to see the broader perspective.

Niko Partners added that Genshin Impact’s global mobile revenue outside China exceeds $4 billion. This means the country accounts for over 55% of the total.

The firm also expects miHoYo’s hit to surpass $10 billion in player spending in 2025. “However, the game has seen declining revenues over the past 12 months, with notably lower player spending compared to the first 3 years,” Niko Partners noted, attributing this to “increased competition in the RPG genre, as well as cannibalization across MiHoYo titles including Honkai: Star Rail and Zenless Zone Zero.”

This data is in line with estimates from other analytics platforms. According to AppMagic, Genshin Impact has surpassed $4.4 billion in IAP revenue. The difference is due to the fact that Niko Parnters tracks gross player spending, while AppMagic shows net revenue reduced by platform fees and inclusive taxes (plus it doesn’t take into account third-party Android stores).

AppMagic also shows that the mainland China (iOS only) is the number one country by IAP revenue, accounting for 38.5% of the total. It is followed by Japan (21.5%), the US (16%), South Korea (5.8%), and Taiwan (2.5%).

In terms of downloads, Genshin Impact is estimated to have generated over 218 million installs globally. The top 5 countries are China (22%), the US (11%), Russia (7%), Indonesia (6%), and Japan (5%).
