Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has reached a new milestone six years after its global launch. It remains the highest-grossing mobile game based on the Harry Potter IP.

Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery surpasses $500 million in player spending on iOS and Android

According to Sensor Tower, Harry Potter: Hogwarts Mystery has generated over $500 million in player spending globally since April 2018.

More than 50% of the total came from the US, followed by Germany, the UK, and France. The US also leads in downloads, with Brazil and India ranking 2nd and 3rd, respectively.

Below are the key milestones (in terms of gross revenue) for Hogwarts Mystery:

These stats are in line with App Magic data, which estimates Hogwarts Mystery’s lifetime net revenue at $369.7 million. The difference in numbers is due to the fact that AppMagic tracks IAP revenue reduced by platform fees and inclusive taxes, while Sensor Tower focuses on player spending (gross revenue).

According to Sensor Tower, Hogwarts Mystery also became the highest-grossing adventure simulation title on iOS and Android in the first half of 2024. Its revenues are five times higher than its closest competitor, PAW Patrol Rescue World.

Hogwarts Mystery was the first official Harry Potter mobile game. The new $500 million milestone cements its status as the top-grossing title based on this franchise, followed by Harry Potter: Magic Awakened, Zynga’s Harry Potter: Puzzles & Spells, and the now-closed Wizards Unite from Pokémon GO developer Niantic.
