Sony has released 14 titles on PC since August 2020. Analysts from VG Insights did some data crunching to estimate the performance of these games, including the recently launched Ghost of Tsushima.

- PlayStation games have sold over 17 million copies on Steam since 2020, VG Insights reported. Including Helldivers 2 (published by Sony, but Arrowhead is not its first-party studio), the total is over 28 million units.
- Helldivers 2 is definitely the company’s most successful PC release — not least thanks to its simultaneous release on Steam and PS5. Sony recently announced that the game had sold over 12 million units globally as of May 5.
- As VG Insights explained, “Although these figures are estimates, they align closely with PlayStation’s reported and leaked numbers, providing a fairly reliable approximation of actual sales.”
- According to the infamous Insomniac leak, Horizon Zero Dawn sold 3.3 million copies as of the beginning of 2023. VG Insights estimates its lifetime sales on PC at 3.7 million. Other best-selling titles include God of War (2.5 million), Days Gone (1.7 million), and Marvel’s Spider-Man (1.3 million).
- All PlayStation releases have generated $830 million in revenue since 2020. According to Sony’s previous reports, it expected to make $450 million on the platform in FY23 alone (ended March 31, 2024), compared to $250 million in FY22.
- Helldivers 2′ revenue of PC is estimated at over $282 million, accounting for 34% of the total.
- Horizon Zero Dawn is Sony’s second highest-grossing release on the platform, with more than $124 million in revenue (15% of the total). It is followed by God of War ($108 million, 13%), Spider-Man ($83 million, 10%), Days Gone ($66.4 million, 8%), The Last of Us Part I ($33.2 million, 4%), Spider-Man: Miles Morales (4%).
- Sony’s most recent PC port, Ghost of Tsushima, sold over 800k units in the first 20 days of its release on Steam. The game also collected 1.42 million wishlists on the platform prior to its launch.
- These estimates are in line with the launch sales of Marvel’s Spider-Man and Horizon Zero Dawn. However, Sucker Punch’s title has better retention: its concurrent player (CCU) count by day 20 nearly doubles that of those two games.
- According to VG Insights, the active audience of Ghost of Tsushima overlaps with Returnal, Horizon Forbidden West, Everspace 2, Lords of the Fallen, and Ratchet & Clan: Rift Apart.
