According to an insider, a new installment in the famous KOTOR series is in development. It’s still unclear whether it’ll be a sequel or remake, but BioWare reportedly has nothing to do with it.

The new rumor came from Star Wars insider Bespin Bulletin. He discussed it during the latest episode of B.O.B. The Podcast.

“Amongst my digging, I heard there is a Knights of the Old Republic project in development somewhere,” Bulletin said. He also recalled Jason Schreier’s comments about the rumored game. Bloomberg reporter claimed EA isn’t involved in the project and “we’ll never guess who the studio is that’s making this game.”

The reports about KOTOR reboot first appeared last year. Nate Najda, communication manager at Wushu Studios, recently claimed the developer’s name is “not as mysterious as you think.”

Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic was released in 2003 and became one of BioWare’s most recognized RPGs. Obsidian released a sequel, The Sith Lords, the following year, and there hasn’t been a new KOTOR game ever since.

Lucasfilm Games announced its rebranding earlier this year. The company has already partnered with Ubisoft, meaning EA won’t be the only company making Star Wars games anymore.
