Despite the disappointing Season 1 and other post-launch issues, Diablo IV seems to be performing well for Blizzard in terms of revenue and player engagement. Here are some new stats about the game and its position in the market.
- The insights were presented in a new report from Newzoo. In July, Diablo IV was the highest-grossing game in the US and UK on both PC and console.
- Analysts didn’t disclose the estimated revenue, so we still only have the old data from Blizzard — $666 million in sales in its first five days.
- Looking at the US alone, a recent report from Circana indicates that Remnant II was the best-selling game last month, dethroning Diablo IV.
- According to Newzoo, 8.65% of gamers* played Diablo IV in July, ranking 11th among all titles. For comparison, its closest rival, Path of Exile, had a player share of 0.28% (ranked 294th).

- Many users also stopped playing other games to jump into Diablo IV. For example, 16.3% of Call of Duty: Modern Warfar II (and Warzone) players switched to Blizzard’s new title last month. The same percentage is also true for Fortnite.
- When it comes to the RPG genre, 13.6% of Final Fantasy XVI players switched to Diablo IV, followed by Diablo II: Resurrected (5.64%) and Hogwarts Legacy (5.52%).

- The top three countries by MAU were the US, Germany, and South Korea.
- The average playtime was 42 hours, with gamers also spending more than 28 million hours watching content on Twitch, YouTube, and Facebook Gaming.
