Humble has laid off a number of employees in two of its departments. This happened as a part of the bundling platform’s restructuring.
The layoffs, which took place last week, affected 10 employees in Humble’s engineering and customer service departments.
“Recently we restructured our operations to invest in key growth areas and strengthen the future of Humble Bundle’s e-commerce business,” Humble told Game Developer. “Unfortunately this meant that some roles in engineering and customer service were impacted.”
The company, which offers different video game bundles and sometimes partners with other developers as a publisher, didn’t clarify how this restructuring will change its strategy and business operations.
In 2017, media conglomerate Ziff Davis acquired Humble through its subsidiary IGN Entertainment. However, the platform’s co-founders John Graham and Jeffery Rosen left the company in 2019.
Last month, Humble raised over $20 million through its “Stand with Ukraine” bundle, donating this money to humanitarian relief efforts in the country. Overall, the games industry has raised almost $200 million for Ukraine so far.
