GDEV, parent company of game developer Nexters, has announced a new major milestone for its flagship title — mobile battler Hero Wars: Alliance.

Hero Wars: Alliance has generated over $1.5 billion in revenue on iOS and Android since its launch in 2017, GDEV said in a press release. It also surpassed 150 million downloads globally.

Last October, the company announced that each version of the game, Dominion Era (web) and Alliance (mobile), reached $350 million and $1.2 billion in revenue, respectively. So it took Alliance about eight months to generate another $300 million.

According to AppMagic, Hero Wars: Alliance is currently 18th highest-grossing mobile game of 2024. It is also ranked 4th in downloads, behind only Growing Mushroom Man (버섯커 키우기), Solo Leveling: Arise and Genshin Impact.

The US accounts for 39% of Hero Wars: Alliance’s in-app revenue, followed by Japan (15%), Germany (8%), Russia (6%), and Taiwan (4%).

It is worth noting that both versions of the game accounted for 89% of the company’s revenue last year. Overall, GDEV reached $465 million in revenue in 2023, down 3% year-over-year. Profit grew 557% to $46 million.

The company rebranded itself as GDEV in June 2023, shortly after returning to the Nasdaq stock exchange. This resulted in an establishing of the GDEV holding, which consists of Nexters, Cubic Games, and Dragon Machines.
