Stardew Valley has reached an impressive milestone, surpassing 30 million copies sold globally. Here is how the figure compares to other successful indie games.
What happened?
Eric Barone, creator of Stardew Valley, shared the news on social media when announcing the upcoming 1.6 update for the game. “Stardew Valley is thriving more than ever. As always, I’m eternally grateful to the players for making all of this possible,” the post reads.
According to Stardew Valley’s official website, 19 million copies were sold on PC alone, meaning that the remaining 11+ million units are split between PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, and mobile. However, the exact share of each platform remains undisclosed.
With a new update on the horizon, a worldwide concert tour underway, an official cookbook coming soon, and now over 30 million copies sold, Stardew Valley is thriving more than ever. As always, I’m eternally grateful to the players (you!🫵) for making all of this possible.

The 1.6 update is expected to launch on March 19 on PC, with console versions coming later this year. It will add new items, dialogue, and other content, as well as multiplayer support for up to eight players on PC.
