Ghost Ship Games has shared an annual recap for Deep Rock Galactic. The studio disclosed its hit co-op title’s sales and other metrics such as DAU and MAU.

Deep Rock Galactic hits 8 million copies sold: look back at game's journey to this impressive milestone

According to a new post on Steam, Deep Rock Galactic has sold over 8 million copies across all platforms (PC, PS4/PS5, and Xbox Series X|S) since its initial launch in February 2018. A total of 2.56 million units were sold in 2023 alone.

  • Deep Rock Galactic reached 150.3k daily active users (DAU) on Steam alone, up 32% year-over-year;
  • It surpassed 1 million monthly active users (MAU) on the platform, up 23% year-over-year;
  • The game’s user base has almost tripled since 2019;
  • Deep Rock Galactic reached 2.4 million followers on Steam (the 5th most followed game on the platform of all time!);
  • In 2023, it also hit 597.6k members on Discord, 339k subscribers on Reddit, and 106k subscribers on YouTube;
  • On average, Steam players spent over 46 hours in Deep Rock Galactic, and over 800k users played for more than 100 hours.

Deep Rock Galactic currently has an “Overwhelmingly Positive” rating on Steam, with 97% of more than 215k user reviews being positive. This makes it not only the best-reviewed title in Coffee Stain’s catalog, but also one of the top rated titles on the platform of all time (#43 according to SteamDB).

When looking at Cofee Stain’s publishing portfolio, Deep Rock Galactic ranks 2nd in revenue and units sold — right between Valheim (over 12 million copies, $152.6 million) and Satisfactory (over 5 million copies, $63 million).
