Xsolla’s XDC Contest for LATAM Developers wrapped up during the Game Developer Day LATAM on July 27. Silent Hill-inspired horror Tormented Souls from Dual Effect SpA was named the Best Game by Xsolla.

28 games made it to the semifinals. All of them will get a $500 credit line from Xsolla Partner Network to cover costs of working with influencers and affiliate networks. Semifinalists will also be invited to join Xsolla Diamond Club, a networking collective of the industry professionals.

Best Game by Xsolla’s Choice

Tormented Souls, psychological horror game inspired by classic titles like Silent Hill, Alone, was named the Best Game by Xsolla’s Choice.

The game’s developer Dual Effect SpA wil receive $10,000. Additionally, the team will get:

  • soft-commitment from Xsolla Funding Club to co-invest in the game in the amount 20% of the budget requested in funding application (where there is another investor and not more than $250,000);
  • featuring the investment application in the Xsolla Funding Club;
  • advisor’s help with finding investments and structuring the investment deal;
  • a free package of Xsolla’s core services.

Special Prizes

Dark Tales from México (prelude), 3D survival horror consisted of 10 short games and based on tales from the real Mexican folklore, won a special prize. BitAll Force will receive a $2,000 credit line from Xsolla Partner Network to cover costs of working with influencers and affiliate networks. The dev team will also get a free package of Xsolla’s core services.

There were also two secret nominations from Xsolla. Each winner in this category will get a free setup, launch and following management of Twitch Drops campaigns via Xsolla Partner Network for a period of 1 month, as well as a free package of Xsolla’s core service.

The first winner in the secret nomination is Dwarf Prison, rogue-lite platformer with RPG elements about fantastic medieval mythology. The game is developed by Canny Capy.

The second winner is Rifters, multiplayer card game where players compete with each other using different card categories and unique heroes’ powers. The title is developed by Spartan GG’S.
