Small Giant Games has officially become the second largest game developer in Finland after Supercell. The studio’s net sales were over €400 million last year, with its other financial metrics also increasing.

On May 26, the Finish business website Tivi shared the data from Small Giant Games’ financial statements. Here are the studio’s official results for 2020:

  • Small Giant Games’ net sales were €416 million, which is up 27% year-over-year;
  • The studio’s operating profit was €199 million, which is up 80% from the last year;
  • According to analyst Hanna Pehkonen, Small Giant Games’ comparable return on equity is now 105%;
  • The company also has 57 employees, which is quite small for a studio with these financial results.

Small Giant Games, founded in 2013, is best known for its mobile hit Empires & Puzzles (it earned over $500 million in just two years), which combines elements of match-3, RPG, and strategy. In December 2018, Zynga acquired 80% of the Finish studio for $560 million, with the rest of the shares to be sold by the end of this year.
