Eric Lempel, Senior Vice President Marketing & Head of PlayStation Network, has confirmed that first-party exlusives will continue to be released for PS4 even after PS5 debuts this holiday.
“PlayStation 4 is a big part of everything we do, and will continue to be a big part of everything we do. There’s a lot more to come on PlayStation 4,” Lempel said during a recent Summer Game Fest stream. “We’re seeing that some of the greatest titles of this generation have released in recent weeks. But that will continue. PlayStation 5 is a next-generation product, but again, we’ve got a lot to come for people on PlayStation 4. There’s still a ton of life in that product.”
This is despite the fact that games like Gran Turismo 7, Horizon Forbidden West, Ratchet and Clank: Rift Apart, and Spider-Man: Miles Morales have been announced exclusively for the next-gen console.
Sony intends to support PS4 until at least 2020.
