Mobile marketing platform AppLovin has acquired Machine Zone for an undiscloses amount. Machine Zone are creators of Mobile Strike, Final Fantasy XV: A New Empire, and hit strategy game Game of War: Fire Age.
This makes Machine Zone AppLovin’s second in-house game development studio after Lion Studios, which focuses on casual titles.
GamesIndustry.biz reports that the deal is awaiting approval.
In addition to acquisitions, AppLovin is increasing its presence in the game development space through partnerships with companies like PeopleFun, Belka Games, ClipWire Games, Firecraft Studios and Geewa. In early May, it made an investment in Redemption Games, the studio behind top-grossing puzzle game,Sweet Escapes.
