China’s biggest trade show for the video games industry will take place in Shanghai from July 31 to August 3.
According to South China Morning Post, the organizers will implement all necessary health control measures. “All visitors will be required to register with their real names and present their health code along with a valid Chinese ID card or passport. China’s health code system assigns each citizen a color-based QR code to indicate whether they’re a potential coronavirus carrier. ChinaJoy says temperature checks will also be carried out at the venue.”
Tencent and NetEase are some of the notable fixtures of ChinaJoy, but recently, it attracted other companies including Sony, Microsoft, and Nintendo. However, it’s unlikely that these companies will join this year after pulling out of every other offline industry event.
