Animal Crossing: New Horizons is well on its way to becoming the biggest Nintendo game. It is already one of the biggest releases of the current generation of consoles. The game almost caught up with one of the best-selling games of recent years, Red Dead Redemption 2.

A study by data and analytics company GfK found that three titles dominated the European video games boxed charts in the first half of 2020: Animal Crossing: New Horizons, FIFA 20, and The Last of Us Part II.
