It has been almost a week since the release of S.T.A.L.K.E.R. 2: Heart of Chornobyl. GSC Game World has already reported impressive launch sales, but here is some data from analytics platform Video Game Insights.

  • Stalker 2 is estimated to have sold over 1.4 million copies on Steam alone as of November 24, according to VG Insights.
  • GSC Game World previously announced that the game had crossed the 1 million mark in just two days after its November 20 launch. This includes copies on both PC and Xbox, with the developers saying that “much more stalkers joined the artifact hunt with Game Pass.”
  • VG Insights also estimates that Stalker 2 launched with over 2.5 million outstanding wishlists on Steam, 400k of which were generated during the month leading to the launch.
  • The US is the number one country by copies sold, accounting for 22% of the total. It is followed by Ukraine (16%), Germany (7%), and China (7%).

  • Gamalytic suggests a different distribution of players by country, with Ukraine (25.5%), Turkey (15.3%), and Russia in the top 3. It is worth noting that Stalker 2 is not available in Russia, but some local users could purchase keys on third-party platforms or migrate to other regions.
  • Stalker 2’s gross revenue on Steam (before Valve’s 30% cut and taxes) is estimated at $66.7 million. The average on Gamalytic is $48.6 million.
  • According to VG Insights, Stalker 2’s audience is overlapped with games like The Forever Winter, Witchfire, and Incursion Red River.

Launched on November 20, Stalker 2 attracted over 110k concurrent players on Steam and reached a new peak of 121.3k CCU over the weekend. The game currently has a “Mostly Positive” (78%) rating on the platform based on more than 33k reviews.
