Loop Hero has already hit 1 million downloads on iOS and Android. French publisher Playdigious, which released the mobile version, said the game performed above expectations.
Playdigious shared the news last week, saying that Loop Hero has reached this milestone in just over two months since its mobile launch on April 30. It added that a “significant number” of users purchased the full version, but didn’t disclose the exact figures.
“This is only the second time we offer a free, limited trial version and for this title it has been a good strategy, giving us the confidence to implement it on other titles in the future,” the publisher said in a statement.
According to AppMagic data, Loop Hero generated 1.12 million downloads on the App Store and Google Play. The US accounts for 22% of total installs, followed by Brazil (11%) and Japan (5%).
Only the first chapter of Loop Hero is available for free, and the game’s full version can be unlocked for $6.99. AppMagic estimates its lifetime mobile revenue (reduced by platform fees and inclusive taxes) at $390.8k. The US accounts for 30% of the total, followed by Japan (7%) and Germany (6.8%).

Developed by indie studio Four Quarters and published by Devolver Digital, Loop Hero originally released on PC in March 2021. It peaked at over 51k concurrent players on Steam at launch and currently has a 93% rating on the platform based on more than 30k user reviews.
Loop Hero reached 1 million copies sold in December 2021. Since then, the team has also brought the game to Nintendo Switch and Xbox.
