Brian Raffel announced his departure from Raven Software. He decided it’s time to retire and enjoy a well-deserved rest.

Raffel, together with his brother Steve (Steve Raffel), founded Raven Software in 1990. Over time, it became a subsidiary of Activision Blizzard and achieved success with numerous games.
As noted by Raven Software in a farewell letter, under Raffel’s leadership, the company released a total of 42 games, including Black Crypt, Hexen, Wolfenstein, STAR WARS Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, X-Men Legends, and 18 installments of Call of Duty. Ultimately, thanks to Raffel’s efforts, the city of Madison, where the studio is based, became a significant location for the gaming industry.
Now, David Pellas will remain the sole head of Raven Software — he shared this position with Raffel for the past year and a half.
