Take-Two Interactive reported on its third fiscal quarter of 2026, which ended on December 31, 2025. The results were better than the company had anticipated.

GTA VI

  • In the report, Take-Two revealed that its net revenue significantly increased during October-December 2025. It grew by 25% to reach $1.7 billion. Initially, Take-Two’s forecast did not exceed $1.62 billion.
  • Specifically, revenue from so-called recurrent consumer spending—microtransactions, in-game advertising, DLC sales, and similar—grew by 20%. This segment ultimately accounted for 77% of Take-Two’s total revenue.
  • Regarding platforms, mobile was the largest by revenue last quarter. Mobile games brought in 51% of the $1.7 billion. As noted by the company’s head, Strauss Zelnick, Take-Two’s mobile business is currently showing “fantastic results.” This success is partly due to the growth in direct sales revenue to consumers (D2C).
  • Console games accounted for another 38% of the revenue, while PC games made up the remaining 11%.
  • Despite the revenue growth, Take-Two continued to operate at a loss. Its net losses amounted to $92.9 million. However, a year earlier, the figure was even higher — $125.2 million.
  • During the investor conference call, Take-Two executives also shared their views on Project Genie—a generative AI that helps create small virtual worlds. Recall that a week ago, Take-Two’s shares dropped sharply after Google announced broader access to its neural network. Top executives agreed that Project Genie is an interesting technology but pointed out that it is still in the early stages of development. They are convinced that at least for now, comparing Project Genie to game engines is “simply unthinkable.”
  • Separately, Take-Two announced that the marketing campaign for GTA VI will kick off in the summer.
