The upcoming RTS wargame Broken Arrow, developed by Steel Balalaika, is set to launch in June. It continues to strengthen its position among Steam’s most wishlisted games.
Broken Arrow has already generated 800k wishlists on Steam, according to publisher Slitherine.
“The launch of Broken Arrow marks a pivotal moment for our company,” Slitherine director of publishing Marco A. Minoli said in a statement. “This represents an unprecedented opportunity for growth and expansion.”
Broken Arrow currently ranks as the 31st most wishlisted upcoming game on Steam, between ARC Raiders and Killing Floor 3. Monster Hunter Wilds leads the list, followed by Deadlock, Hollow Knight: Silksong, Civilization VII, and Elden Ring Nightreign.
At its core, Broken Arrow is a realistic RTS focused on large-scale urban combat, with hundreds of modern military vehicles and aircraft available. It also offers deep unit customization, as well as both the single-player campaign (with a scenario editor), online co-op, and 5v5 multiplayer.
In November, Steel Balalaika held a public playtest for Broken Arrow. It peaked at over 16.5k concurrent players, with the studio later saying that the beta surpassed 500k participants in total.
Steel Balalaika is an independent studio founded in Russia in 2021. In addition to partnering with Slitherine, the team is also crowdfunded on Patreon, where it has over 1,200 paid subscribers.
