Newzoo has analyzed the top-grossing PC and console games for the third quarter of 2024. Here are the key findings, including the performance of new releases and the dominance of sports franchises.
Black Myth: Wukong (left), EA Sports College Football 25 (right)
- EA Sports College Football 25 was the highest-grossing PC and console game* in the US and Europe in Q3, according to a new report from Newzoo. It is followed by another sports title from Electronic Arts, EA Sports FC 25.
*Note that Newzoo tracks revenue across six major markets: the US, UK, France, Germany, Italy, and Spain. That’s why some games like Black Myth: Wukong, which generated the majority of its sales in China, ranked lower than they potentially would if the report had covered the entire global market.
- Overall, half of the top 10 are sports games, including NBA 2K25 (#4), Madden NFL 25 (#9), and EA Sports FC 24 (#10). The analysts added that EA Sports College Football 25 accounted for over 18% of the top 10’s total revenue.
- Black Myth: Wukong ranked 5th in revenue in the US and Europe, accounting for nearly 4% of total cumulative revenues in Q3.
- Below are also the top 10 highest-grossing PC and console games for the first half of 2024 (January-June) across the six markets covered by Newzoo.
- Black Myth: Wukong was the highest-grossing PC game across these countries in Q3, with a 6.9% market share. This helped Game Science’s title dethrone Valorant, which accounted for 6.8% of PC revenues in Q3.
