Keen Games has revealed a new milestone for its co-op survival action RPG Enshrouded. The game, launched in Early Access earlier this year, continues to perform well on Steam.

Enshrouded surpasses 3 million players in less than seven months

In a blog post on Steam, Keen Games announced that Enshrouded has surpassed 3 million players since its launch on January 24. Below are the previous sales milestones for the game:

Enshrouded has added another 1 million users in less than six months. These are impressive results for an Early Access indie game that is only available on one platform (Steam).

According to SteamDB, Enshrouded peaked at 160,405 concurrent players. It still attracts daily peaks of around 10k CCU, indicating high interest from the core audience. The game also ranks 9th in peak CCU among all 2024 releases on Steam:

  1. Palworld — 2.1 million CCU
  2. Helldivers 2 — 458.7k CCU
  3. The First Descendant (free-to-play) — 264.8k CCU
  4. Last Epoch — 264.7k CCU
  5. Once Human (free-to-play) — 231.6k CCU
  6. Dragon’s Dogma 2 — 228.5 CCU
  7. Content Warning — 204.4k CCU (reached its peak while being free-to-keep in the first 24 hours after launch)
  8. Manor Lords — 173.1k CCU
  9. Enshrouded — 160.4k CCU
  10. 7 Days to Die — 125.4k CCU

Player reception has also been generally warm so far, with 85% of the 48.6k user reviews on Steam being positive. Recent reviews (left in the last 30 days), however, dropped to “Mostly Positive” (79%) due to players criticizing the devs for locking some gear behind Twitch Drops.

Keen Games is now working on new patches and content updates, with 1.0 launch scheduled for 2025. The studio also plans to launch PlayStation and Xbox versions of the game next year.
