Supercell has updated information on access to its games in Russia and Belarus. There is now an exact time period when the company’s mobile titles will become unavailable in these countries.
In a new update on its official website, Supercell announced that it will ultimately block access to its games for players from Russia and Belarus until June 1.
“In response to the ongoing war in Ukraine, Supercell has removed its games from app stores in Russia and Belarus,” the new statement reads. “Access to all Supercell games for existing users from Russia and Belarus will be suspended during the spring of 2023 in accordance with an earlier decision.”
This message is slightly different from the announcement Supercell made in March 2022 when it removed its games from the App Store and Google Play. At the time, the Finnish company noted that “access for existing players will be suspended with the next client updates.”
Russian and Belarusian users could still play Clash of Clans, Hay Day, and other titles despite the restrictions. Last April, Brawl Stars became the first Supercell game to become unavailable to existing players in these regions due to a client update.
Earlier this month, the company also suspended access to Clash of Clans, which started showing the “Login failed” error to players from Russia and Belarus. Users tried to bypass this restriction by using VPN services, but some accounts were permanently banned for “account phishing attempt.”
