Nordisk Games has announced an acquisition of Flashbulb Games, which is best known for developing sandbox racing game Trailmakers. While the exact sum of the deal remains undisclosed, it can amount to several hundred million Danish Kroner.

The company decided to acquire Flashbulb Games after buying a 43% stake in the studio for 16.5 million DKK ($2.5 million) in 2017.

“Flashbulb is a studio packed with talented and experienced developers, who understand and enjoy the challenge of creating really unique games and turning them into commercial success,” Nordisk Games senior partner Martin Walfisz said. “Having collaborated really well for the past five years we were keen to increase our involvement, which led to the discussion with the founders to acquire 100% of the studio.”

Flashbulb Games was founded in 2016 by Press Play former employees. Besides Trailmakers, the studio also created MMO party game Rubber Bandits, which will come out on December 2.

Prior to the Flashbulb Games acquisition, Nordisk Games bought a major stake in Star Stable Entertainment, bringing its total investments in the game studios to €200 million.
