M.O.B.A. Network, which acquires, develops and operates gaming communities, has snapped up gaming forum ResetEra.com for $4.5 million. The company has paid $3.55 million upon closing the deal, with another $1 million to be paid by 31 December 2021.

Founded in 2017, ResetEra.com hosts more than 45 million forum posts from roughly 55,000 members. The forum’s revenue generated through ads and member subscriptions in the last twelve months (up to and including 31 August) amounted to approximately USD 700,000.

M.O.B.A. Network expects to increase ResetEra.com’s advertising revenue “through a higher share of direct sales, implementation of new ad formats, and a long-term product development strategy.”

The operational team that runs ResetEra will continue to do so under M.O.B.A. Network.

“ResetEra.com is another step in our strategy to grow through acquisitions and create more relevant communities with attractive, growing target groups that many companies want to expose themselves to,” said Björn Mannerqvist, CEO of M.O.B.A. Network.

M.O.B.A. Network currently operates a total of 8 global esport communities on its own platform, including Dotafire.com, Smitefire.com, and Leaguespy.net.
