BioWare co-founder Trent Oster has revealed that his studio tried to pitch a “reforged” version of Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic. The pitch, unfortunately, failed, but now we have a little sneak peek of it.

Oster shared a first slide of the pitch on Twitter after sending huge congratulations to Aspyr, which is now working on the Star Wars: KOTOR remake.

The project that Beamdog pitched was called The Reforged Collection, which means that it could have been a collection of both KOTOR and KOTOR 2. However, it is not clear whether it was supposed to be an HD remaster or remake.

The developer didn’t publish the whole presentation. Other slides that can be seen on the preview are called “Vision,” “Key selling points,” “Core pillars,” and “HD Improvements.”

“I always find it sad to look at failed pitches after the fact and think about the hard work that went into building them,” Oster wrote.

Trent Oster was one of the BioWare co-founders, along with Ray Muzyka and Greg Muzyka. He worked on games like Baldur’s Gate and Neverwinter Nights before leaving the studio in 2009. After that, Oster founded Beamdog, which is known for remastering classic games (including Neverwinter Nights: Enhanced Edition and Planescape: Torment: Enhanced Edition).
