DICE gave an update on what’s next for the Battlefield franchise. The studio is working on two separate games, one for PC and consoles and one for mobile.

According to DICE general manager Oskar Gabrielson, the next Battlefield will come out this Holiday season for PC and next-gen consoles. It is being developed by the studio’s “biggest team ever,” with the help of Criterion and DICE LA.

“It has everything we love about Battlefield — and takes all of it to the next level,” Gabrielson said in a press release, promising massive battles, game-changing destruction, and more players than ever before.

On top of that, Electronic Arts will publish Battlefield for mobile platforms. It is not a port but a standalone project. Other than the fact that it is being developed by Industrial Toys, there are no details about the upcoming game.

Gabrielson described it as a “skill-based experience,” saying it will be different from the PC and console version of Battlefield. The game is now entering a testing period and will come out in 2022.
