Epic Games is worth $17.3 billion following a $1.78 billion round of funding.
Sony Corporation has invested $250 million. Among other investment partners are Baillie Gifford, BlackRock, Fidelity Management & Research Company LLC, Lightspeed Venture Partners, Ontario Teachers’ Pension Plan Board, T. Rowe Price Associates, Inc., and David Tepper. 2018 investors KKR and Smash Ventures also participated in the round.
This latest round of funding makes Epic the fifth most valuable technology startup in the US.
