Humble has set up a $1 million fund to publish games from black games developers.
“Humble believes in empowering and uniting communities through gaming and will leverage our platform to help achieve racial equity everywhere,” the company announced via Twitter.
This announcement came amid protests in the United States following the death of George Floyd at the hands of Minneapolis police officer Derek Chauvin.
Other video game companies have also expressed their support of the #BlackLivesMatter movement. Electronic Arts has pledged $1 million in donations to various organizations fighting racism. Ubisoft committed to a $100,000 donation to the the NAACP Legal Defense Fund and Black Lives Matter. Devolver Digital and its employees have donated a total of $65,000 to multiple charities fighting police brutality.
